Yay! Summer TV season is here. HBO paved the way for a Summer season where only a few years ago we were left to watch reruns and bad TV specials and pseudo-reality TV shows. Now, we’ve got options…options.

The good die young and the bad linger like a persistent, annoying cyst…. Yahoo has a list of 39 TV shows that have been axed by their respective networks. Five of them I am really, really bummed to see go bye, bye. But, I am still very happy they were aired at all!

Men in Trees (ABC)

I just love this show! It’s smartly written, a little cooky and totally fun to watch. It was my romantic comedy fix after Sex and the City ended.

So it’s off with analog TV’s head and into the future with digital television. On February 17, 2009 all US TV stations will turn off analog broadcasting forever. That means if your TV does not have a built-in digital tuner, you either have to buy an analog to digital TV converter for $50-$70 or buy a new shiny DTV (or HDTV).

As always, I was looking for free sh*t to watch online (that’s not a YouTube video of dancing cats on fire) and discovered that ABC, NBC, FOX, The CW, and CBS now have full episodes to watch of some popular, new and older shows. I started watching last year’s new series “Kitchen Nightmares” with Gordon Ramsay and Cantebury’s Law with Julianna Marguiles on FOX. They’re both great shows and the viewing quality is quite good. But, just like VH1’s show episodes online, you’ve got to deal with annoying commercials. I think right now MTV is the only website whose online episodes are commercial free. I could be wrong.
