I was skeptical at first when they brought Jeremy Sisto on the newest season of Law and Order although I love him as an actor. It’s just all there other attempts to make Law and Order at least as interesting as Law and Order Criminal Intent was in its first five seasons, failed. But, damn what a comeback! The first episode of this current 7th season was nothing to talk about. It wasn’t bad, but it did have a bit too much story about Detective Cyrus Lupo’s (Sisto) family. Sure, Lupo’s brother dies and that’s the case that’s being solved, but could I care less about his brother’s widow and the two kids.

I recently started watching two British television shows starring film actors whom I had no idea starred in successful TV shows. Second Sight, BBC-1’s detective drama about a DCI (detective chief inspector) who’s going blind, stars Clive Owner as the detective (DCI Tanner). Shameless, Channel 4’s family dramedy about a disturbingly dysfunctional lower class Manchester family starring James McAvoy as Steve, the middle class boyfriend of Fiona, the oldest daughter played by Anne-Marie Duff. Anyway, for a couple of months after The OC ended, I did have Veronica Mars to gorge on until the season ended and I learned weeks later that my much adored teen/collegiate melodrama about a spunky and smart blond sleuth, a less cheesy and innocent Nancy Drew, would not return in Fall. What was I to do? Not a good soap operatic “teen” driven or even collegiate TV show in sight.

With every new season, and within every full year of TV, there come a few disappointments. Some shows get canceled, while others just suck. Here are some of the most disappointing TV shows in 2007.

Because They Just Suck (even a little)

The Black Donnellys: I was looking forward to having a mobster themes TV show to watch. The Black Donnellys was a real disappointment. The casting is too young, and too bad, especially the lead guy who played Tommy Donnelly, Johnathan Tucker. He had a weird way of speaking and was completely unbelievable as even an actor. The show got canceled, fortunately.
