The good die young and the bad linger like a persistent, annoying cyst…. Yahoo has a list of 39 TV shows that have been axed by their respective networks. Five of them I am really, really bummed to see go bye, bye. But, I am still very happy they were aired at all!

Men in Trees (ABC)

As always, I was looking for free sh*t to watch online (that’s not a YouTube video of dancing cats on fire) and discovered that ABC, NBC, FOX, The CW, and CBS now have full episodes to watch of some popular, new and older shows. The Saint from ‘Rome’

The latest from The Hollywood Reporter is that The Saint is getting a modern redo and will star James Purefoy (Mark Antony from HBO’s Rome). The Saint was originally a series of novels (by Leslie Charteris) turned TV series (twice) turned movie (once with Val Kilmer in 1997). A 2 hour movie pilot will be produced independently and shopped around to studios. I loved Purefoy’s Mark Antony and the concept of The Saint is awesome. Read more here.

Since The OC was cut short in what I considered the prime of it’s run (because of and not despite the much loved Mischa Barton’s dramatic exit), I have been hungry for a delicious teen melodrama rich in decadent story lines and under aged eye candy. Not that any of the stars are really ever that young off screen no matter what they claim. Anyway, for a couple of months after The OC ended, I did have Veronica Mars to gorge on until the season ended and I learned weeks later that my much adored teen/collegiate melodrama about a spunky and smart blond sleuth, a less cheesy and innocent Nancy Drew, would not return in Fall. What was I to do? Not a good soap operatic “teen” driven or even collegiate TV show in sight.
